Rows marked as IBA official in BatchPour metadata.

Base-spirit averages

Whiskey: 26% across 17; Cachaça: 22.9% across 1; Brandy & Cognac: 22.3% across 4; Gin: 21.1% across 20.

ABV and standard-drinks figures are estimates from recipe quantities, not laboratory measurements. Added water uses 22% for stir, 27% for shake and 0% for build, each applied to the full recipe volume before added water. The batch planner lets you change that assumption. Ice melt during service is not predicted; a 0% preset means no pre-added water. Adding water changes ABV but not the amount of alcohol in a serving.

How we built this

Each row is derived from BatchPour's recipe ratios and the same ABV math used by the cocktail pages. Neat ABV maps to the headline single-drink ABV; finished ABV applies the dilution model that appears in batch math.

Computed from each recipe's ingredient ratios with added-water planning assumptions: stir 22%, shake 27%, build 0% of the full recipe volume before added water. These presets do not predict ice melt. One US standard drink is 0.6 fl oz pure alcohol.
