Batch calculator FAQ
Why do batched cocktails taste watered-down?
Because stirring or shaking a single drink over ice adds 20-30% water by volume (ice melt). A pre-batched cocktail skips that step, so you need to add that water manually before serving. BatchPour calculates the exact amount.
How much water do I add to a batched cocktail?
For stirred-style batches (Negroni, Manhattan), add about 22% of the total spirit volume in water. For shaken-style batches (Margarita, Daiquiri), add about 27%. BatchPour computes this automatically.
How many standard drinks are in my batch?
One US standard drink contains 0.6 fl oz of pure ethanol (~14g). BatchPour totals the pure alcohol in your recipe and divides by 0.6 oz to give you total and per-serving standard drink counts.
How many bottles do I need?
BatchPour divides the batched volume of each ingredient by 750 ml (≈25.36 oz) and rounds up to the nearest whole bottle.
