About BatchPour
BatchPour exists because dilution math is invisible — and most batch cocktail guides skip it entirely.
What we are
BatchPour is a collection of free, client-side cocktail calculators. Every calculation happens in your browser — nothing is sent to any server. No sign-up, no paywall, no account required.
The tools cover: batch scaling with dilution, ABV and standard-drink counting, shake vs stir analysis, syrup ratios, citrus yield, and a Widmark-formula BAC estimator (educational only — see the full disclaimer on that page).
Why the dilution math matters
The single most common mistake in home cocktail batching is forgetting to add dilution water. When you stir or shake a single cocktail, ice melts into the drink — adding 20-30% of the volume as water. That water is not wasted; it is what makes the spirit smooth, opens up the aromatics, and brings the drink to the right strength for enjoyment.
Skip the dilution in a batch and you have a drink that is 20-30% stronger and harsher than intended. BatchPour puts the correct water volume front and center.
Data sources
All calculations use established bartending and chemistry formulas: Widmark's BAC model (1932), standard dilution percentages from cocktail science literature (typically cited at 20-25% for stirred drinks, 25-30% for shaken), and USDA fruit yield averages. All outputs are estimates — actual results vary by technique, ice temperature, and produce quality.
Independence and monetization
BatchPour is an independent site under Solmoor. We earn nothing from the free tools. When we add affiliate links in the future (barware, courses), we will say so clearly and always in compliance with FTC disclosure guidelines. Until then, there are no affiliate buttons on the site.
